Most Microsoft Office and 365 users only take advantage of a tiny portion of what their licensed Microsoft 365 Suite has to offer. It can be daunting venturing into the extra features, the myriad of tools they offer or using additional services you have never touched before. Outside of the core Microsoft Office Apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), Microsoft’s 365 Suite offers a huge number of services and features that can connect data across Microsoft’s many services, increase collaboration and automate many workflows which will in turn make your business more streamlined and efficient. The Digital Transformation Team are familiar with them all and regularly update their knowledge on new features as they become available from Microsoft.
Some examples include:
Power Automate is an excellent way to complete tasks when certain events are triggered in Microsoft. These events could be when an e-mail arrives with a certain subject, or when a form is submitted in Microsoft Forms, or when a file is added to a SharePoint or OneDrive folder. What happens when these events are triggered can be completely custom made to you.
Using Microsoft Lists is like using both Excel and a Database in one but also dialling up its abilities to 11! Lists are web-based tables that can hold all sorts of data and records, link to each other and are used to power whole online systems by using Power Automate and Flows. Reports, workflows, and e-mails can all be generated and triggered automatically from data that is entered into or changed within Microsoft Lists. This can include but are by no means limited to:
- Asset Management
- Content Scheduling
- Employee Onboarding
- Issue Tracking and Requests (i.e. a service board or ticketing system)
- Recruitment Tracker
- Travel Requests
- Work/Project Progress Trackers
The Power of the Browser
The Digital Transformation Team know what you can access, and how to access it, all from within the web-browser; freeing up valuable resources on your machine and enabling you to work from anywhere and on any device – including mobile devices.
Other Microsoft 365 Services
There may be services that Microsoft offers that you have never heard of, or even that you never thought could help improve your workload. For example, using Microsoft Forms to handle data input from customers, or using Microsoft Bookings to handle work events.
These little-known tools include:
Sharing and Collaboration
Microsoft 365 creates a multitude of possibilities for your end users to collaborate, catch up and participate in documents together and at the same time. We know how to get your business to work together as one big entity by using the power of the cloud and the products included in your licensing with OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams.
