Microsoft has recently announced the update for its existing command bar to a new simplified version. Subsequently, the aim of the new OneDrive command bar is to help users be less distracted and to boost productivity.
The current user interface of the command bar in OneDrive for Business appears a bit cluttered with all the different command options in the same place. Currently, you can add new files, open, share files, copy links, download, delete, rename, automate and more all from the command bar. This can appear very distracting to the eye.
The newly updated command bar is a lot more simplified. Allowing the users to find all the frequently used commands a lot easier. It is a much cleaner look and will reduce clutter on your screen whilst you are working. Microsoft explained on the Microsoft 365 roadmap that “With this update, users will be able to easily identify the right file and access primary commands. The new simplified view will permit users to focus on the content while at the same time being visually pleasing”.
