Digital transformation

Using technology to be more productive, more efficient, and more effective.

What is digital transformation?

On average, companies only use about 40% of the technology capabilities they’ve paid for. We’re interested in what that extra 60% is.

There’s no getting away from the fact that the pandemic has dramatically changed companies’ digital landscapes. With an influx of people now working from home, companies have needed to adjust ‘how they do things’. Coupled with a sustained desire to work from home even after the pandemic, many companies are now downsizing their office space and changing shift patterns. People still need the capabilities to work from the office as well as remotely, so with that, the drive to the cloud has been astronomical.

Moving to the cloud presents many benefits to businesses, and we’re big advocates of it! But even we recognise that the drive to the cloud has also highlighted several areas where companies are not everaging its true potential. Whether it be a lack of knowledge, resource, or time. Digital transformation is our way of helping you to better embrace this new technology. Equipping you with all the tools and know-how of the cloud to make your business better.

Digital transformation is the number one strategic must-have for organisations.

Digital transformation itself is not an off the shelf product. It’s a combination of knowledge, experience and strategy that seeks to change the way users and businesses operate. Primarily, by using technology to:

  • Increase productivity
  • Improve efficiency
  • Minimise repetition
  • Reduce duplication
  • Save both time and money
  • Better prepare for the future.

Embracing digital transformation is critical, and it does not have to be complex or costly.

How digital transformation can help you and your business

Our digital transformation team can help you and your business by:

  • Conducting digital diagnostics to get under the skin of what software you use, where you use it, how you use it, and what you’re using it for. This allows us to identify any opportunities to streamline your technology or where automations may be possible. What’s automation you ask? It’s your new best friend. Allowing machine learning and artificial intelligence to do the mundane and repetitive tasks for you – so you don’t have to!
  • Educating, and empowering you to explore the areas of the Microsoft 365 suite that are already included in your licence but not currently in use. This includes many tools that can be used day to day for tasks that you may already be doing manually, or you are already paying for with other (unnecessary) 3rd parties services. The aim for us at this stage is to identify if any of the currently unmet business goals can actually be achieved ‘by what’s already under your nose’.
  • Upskilling you and your team through training and workshops for how to get the best out of the technology you use every day
  • Helping you and your team to accelerate the creation of powerful reports and analytics, automating data and delivering actionable insights faster than ever
  • Unlocking the powers of technology to increase productivity, profits and value.
  • Giving you something that money simply cannot buy – time. Using technology and automation to free up your time which is better spent on the “human” part of your jobs.

It’s about enhancing your people, your performance and your profits!

Digital transformation case studies

Working with a large payroll department to understand the tasks, processes and reports required each month we developed a whole new system using the tools they already had, to reduce the time required to process payroll and extract reports from three weeks for four people to just four days for one person.

Identifying tasks that could be automated for an accountant meant that by creating some data manipulation macros they can now automatically process CRM data and financial data into multiple formats including importing into Sage. This was a process that usually took a couple of hours each day and now can be done in a couple of minutes.

Working with a large processing factory to identify, design, train, build, and move their entire server infrastructure to the cloud using Microsoft 365, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. This then enabled collaborative working for the entire factory teams and the replacing of many paper checks and logs by utilising apps within Microsoft Teams to conduct and record inspections.

Creating an entirely automated insurance processing system using the Power Platform within Microsoft 365, enabling multiple company’s systems to automatically talk to and update each other whilst minimising the need for any manual duplication of data.

Using hidden functionality already available within existing Microsoft 365 licences to build a complete stock control system for Chip & Pin and POS devices across over 7000 stores in the UK for a large retail company. This meant other than the design and build elements of this work there were no additional licensing costs or monthly hosting fees saving the customer thousands each year compared to other bespoke or off-the-shelf solutions.
